We at Doolin View are passionate about the outdoors and the amazing area we live in and are happy to try and assist you with a more active and adventurers way of discovering this local area of outstanding natural beauty:

Walking –

Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk – Distance 18Km or Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher is 8Km (about 2 hours each way)

The Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk is a spectacular coastal walk linking the villages of Doolin and Liscannor via the Cliffs of Moher. This trail will bring the walker into one of the most outstanding landscapes of Ireland. From Doolin in the North set out with views over Aill na Searrach, the Aran Islands, and Galway Bay walking on to the majestic Cliffs of Moher and then South to Hags Head and Liscannor.

Why not take a guided walk with someone who really knows the trail inside out. Pat Sweeney will take you on a walk of a lifetime from Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher. Pat’s knowledge of trail will add to your enjoyment. Pat’s walk begins at 10am daily from O’Connor’s pub in Fishers Street in Doolin (April – October).


Aran Islands Walks

Lub Dun Eochla is approximately 10km and is a looped walk located on Inis Mór.

Lúb Cill Mhuirbhigh is approximately 16km and is a moderate looped walk located on Inis Mór.


The Burren Way – Trialhead 2 starts from Doolin

The Burren Way is a 123km linear walking trail (including East Burren Loop and links to Lisdoonvarna and Ballyvaughan) located in the Burren area of North Clare.

Based south east of Mullaghmore in the Burren National Park Mullaghmore Experience Walking Centre will offer half day and day long guided walks of some of the more remote and beautiful parts of Mullaghmore Mountain within the Burren national park.

Carran Turlough Loop –

This looped walk is a 5km route, which travels around the Carran Turlough (seasonal lake), Europes largest Turlough.


Cycling –

Lonely Planet dubbed North Clare one of the 5 best cycling routes in the world. The surrounding area offers a number of marked cycling routes. We are happy to assist you in arranging bike hire.

Doolin Cycle Hub –

  • Loop 2 – Start Doolin – 26Km or 39Km – Estimated Time 3-4 hours
  • Loop 3 – Start Doolin -43Km – Estimated Time 4-4.30 hours
  • Loop 4 – Start Doolin – 21Km or 47Km – Estimated Time 4.30 – 5 hours

North Clare Sea Kayaking is based in Doolin and offers great tours around Doolin either as a full day or half day. Equipment is fully provided and tours are designed to suit all skill levels from new novice to advanced.

The Burren Way Mountain Bike Tours is based in Doolin and offers exciting guided mountain bike tours in and around the Burren and North Clare. Tours are fully organised and range in difficulty with names like Bike & Brew, Puffins & Pints, Sky to Sea are not all about the bike and offer a truly memorable way to explore this pictures area of Ireland.

Why not warm up first on this 18 hole links course located on the road to Doolin Pier. The course has the spectacular backdrop with The Cliffs of Moher, The Aran Islands and Doonagore Castle and is open to all levels from beginner to handicapped pro.

Lahinch is widely regarded as one of the finest links courses in the world. The old course has been described as the ‘ St. Andrews’ of Ireland and offers the chance to challenge your skills and enjoy this amazing course.
